Pumps, valves and pressure equipment

Pressure retaining equipment demands verified materials, controlled welding and witnessed testing. We inspect it to code and project requirements.

01Integrity, tightness and performance

Pumps, valves, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and piping share common risks: pressure boundary material, castings and forgings integrity, welding quality, testing and documentation. Valves add seat tightness and actuation; pumps add hydraulic performance and vibration.

QUALITAS TR provides buyer side inspection from material verification to hydrostatic, seat leakage and performance testing, and reviews the manufacturing record book.

02Typical quality risks we see

  • Wrong pressure boundary material
  • Casting porosity leaking under test
  • Welding outside qualification
  • Hydrotest pressure or duration incorrect
  • Seat leakage above allowed class
  • Pump performance outside tolerance
  • Incomplete material traceability

05Standards and requirements

Valve testing commonly follows ISO 5208, EN 12266 or API 598; pump performance testing ISO 9906. Pressure equipment for the EU market falls under the Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU.

06The sector in Turkey

Turkey has a mature pump and valve industry and numerous pressure equipment fabricators, especially in İstanbul, Kocaeli, Ankara, Konya and İzmir.
