Industrial expediting services

Independent visibility of supplier progress and delivery risk. We verify what has actually been done, not what the progress report says.

Overview

Expediting is a discipline, not a phone call

Late delivery is one of the most expensive failures in industrial supply chains, and it is rarely sudden. Material arrives late, a machine is overloaded, a sub-supplier slips, a drawing waits for approval. Each signal is visible weeks before the delivery date if someone is looking at the shop floor.

QUALITAS TR expediters visit suppliers at planned intervals or milestones, check procurement status of materials and bought-out items, verify physical manufacturing progress against the schedule, follow up documentation and inspection readiness, and report a clear status with forecast dates and risks.

Expediting is offered as desk expediting (structured remote follow-up), field expediting (visits) or a combination. Because the same engineers also inspect, they recognise when a schedule is being protected at the expense of quality.

What an expediting report shows

Verified progress against plan, milestone status and the variance that triggers escalation.

Expediting dashboard: planned versus actual progress

Weighted manufacturing progress of a fabricated equipment order with milestone markers. Select a scenario or a milestone.

Illustrative data

Expediting compares verified physical progress with the agreed schedule and flags delivery risk early.

How we work

Expediting cycle

Expediting intensity follows criticality: long lead and critical path items get the closest attention.

  1. Criticality rating

Each order is rated by schedule criticality, supplier history and complexity to set the expediting level.

  2. Schedule review

The supplier's manufacturing schedule is checked for realism: capacity, sub-supplier lead times, test and document durations.

  3. Verify

Visits confirm material on site, machines loaded, work in progress and test readiness with photographs.

  4. Forecast

Each milestone gets a verified forecast date. Variances and their causes are recorded.

  5. Escalate and recover

Delays are escalated with a recovery plan, owners and dates, and followed until closed.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between expediting and inspection?

Inspection verifies conformity: is it right? Expediting verifies progress: will it be on time? They are often combined in one visit but reported separately.

How often should a critical order be expedited?

Typically every two to four weeks in normal phases, and weekly or more often around critical milestones such as material arrival, final testing and shipment.
