Quality Assurance and Quality Control
Quality documentation and final dossier review
Documents are part of the product. We check that certificates, records and dossiers are complete, consistent, traceable and correct before you accept them.
01What the service involves
Engineered products are delivered with documentation: material test certificates, welding records, NDT reports, test certificates, calibration certificates, declarations of conformity and a manufacturing record book or final data book. QUALITAS TR reviews these documents against the purchase order and specification requirements.
Review covers completeness (every required document present), correctness (right standards, grades, values within limits), consistency (heat numbers, serial numbers and dates match across documents) and authenticity indicators.
02Why buyers need it
Incomplete or incorrect documentation can stop a shipment at customs, delay commissioning or invalidate a warranty. In regulated sectors it can prevent the equipment from being put into service.
Documentation problems are much easier to fix while the supplier still has the records and the material on site.
03Typical applications
- Manufacturing record books for pressure equipment
- Final data books for capital projects
- Material certificate packs for steel and alloys
- Documentation for railway, energy and defence projects
- Declarations of conformity and technical files
- Documentation for customs and letters of credit
04Methodology
Document requirement list
Required documents compiled from contract, specification and applicable codes.
Progressive review
Documents reviewed as they are produced, not only at the end.
Cross-check
Heat numbers, serial numbers, quantities and dates checked across documents and against the hardware.
Technical check
Values compared with standard and specification limits; certificate types verified.
Dossier approval
Final dossier index, comments and approval recommendation.
05Applicable standards and references
Material certificate types (2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 3.2) are defined in EN 10204. Pressure equipment placed on the EU market requires documentation under the Pressure Equipment Directive. Welding documentation follows the welding quality requirements in the specification, often ISO 3834.
06Deliverables
- Document requirement list
- Review comment sheet
- Traceability matrix (heat or serial number to document)
- Final dossier index
- Approval recommendation
07Customer benefits
- Shipments not delayed by missing documents
- Traceability proven before delivery
- Lower risk of accepting non-genuine certificates
- Complete records for operation and maintenance
- Smoother customs and payment processes
08How QUALITAS TR supports you
Our metallurgical background is particularly useful in certificate review: chemical composition, mechanical properties, heat treatment conditions and impact test values are checked against the actual material standard, not only the purchase order text.
