Third-Party Inspection
Mechanical equipment inspection
Inspection of machines and mechanical equipment from component level to the assembled unit, including the tests that prove function and integrity.
01What the service involves
Mechanical equipment inspection covers pumps, valves, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic units, compressors, cranes and lifting equipment, conveyors and general machinery. QUALITAS TR inspects critical components, verifies assembly (fits, clearances, alignment, torque), and witnesses mechanical tests.
Typical tests include hardness testing, mechanical test witnessing on material samples, hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests, leak tests, load and proof load tests, running tests, vibration and noise checks, and functional tests against the data sheet.
02Why buyers need it
Mechanical equipment fails in service for reasons that are often detectable at the factory: incorrect clearances, misalignment, wrong material hardness, leaking seals. Testing before shipment is far cheaper than repairing at site.
Tests are only meaningful if procedures, instruments and acceptance criteria are correct. Independent witnessing verifies all three.
03Typical applications
- Pumps and valves
- Gearboxes and drive units
- Hydraulic power units and cylinders
- Lifting equipment and cranes
- Process skids and packaged units
- Agricultural and construction machinery components
04Methodology
Data sheet review
Performance, material and test requirements identified from data sheet and specification.
Component checks
Critical components inspected for material, hardness, dimensions and surface condition.
Assembly verification
Fits, clearances, alignment, bolting torque and lubrication checked.
Testing
Pressure, leak, load and running tests witnessed with calibrated instruments.
Final inspection
Nameplate, painting, preservation and documents verified before release.
05Applicable standards and references
Test requirements are usually set by the product standard named in the specification (for example API, EN or ISO standards for pumps, valves or lifting equipment) and, for equipment placed on the EU market, by the applicable directive. We confirm the governing documents before each test.
06Deliverables
- Inspection report with assembly checks
- Test witnessing report with recorded values
- Instrument calibration record
- Punch list
- Release note
07Customer benefits
- Performance proven before delivery
- Fewer start-up failures
- Correct test methods and instruments
- Clear accept or reject decision
- Records for warranty and maintenance
08How QUALITAS TR supports you
Our team understands both the material side (hardness, heat treatment, metallurgy) and the mechanical side (assembly, function), which is essential when a test result has to be interpreted.
