NDT coordination and material testing

The right test, by qualified personnel, to the correct procedure and acceptance criteria. We plan, witness and review NDT and material testing so the results can be trusted.

Overview

Clear about what we perform and what we coordinate

Non-destructive testing and laboratory testing are only as reliable as the procedure, the operator's qualification, the calibration of the equipment and the acceptance criteria used. Many problems we find are not in the parts but in the test: wrong technique for the joint geometry, expired operator certificates, or results evaluated against the wrong standard.

QUALITAS TR plans the testing scope with you, verifies the competence of the testing personnel and laboratory, witnesses tests at hold points and reviews the reports. Visual testing and routine measurements such as hardness, coating thickness and material thickness checks are carried out by our engineers during inspections where specified.

Volumetric and surface NDT methods that require certified operators (UT, RT, MT, PT) and laboratory analyses are performed by the supplier's qualified personnel or by independent laboratories and NDT companies that we coordinate. We state in every proposal which activities are performed by whom.

How we work

Testing that stands up to scrutiny

We check the testing system before we check the results.

  1. Define scope

Methods, extent (percentage, locations), timing relative to heat treatment and acceptance criteria are agreed from the specification.

  2. Qualify the tester

Personnel certification level and sector, procedure, equipment calibration and, for laboratories, the accreditation scope are verified.

  3. Witness

Tests are witnessed at agreed points, including technique set-up and calibration checks, not only the result.

  4. Review

Reports are checked for completeness, correct acceptance criteria, traceability to the part and indication evaluation.

  5. Close out

Repairs, re-tests and the final record are tracked until the test scope is complete.

Frequently asked questions

Does QUALITAS TR own NDT equipment or a laboratory?

We do not operate a laboratory. Our engineers perform visual testing and routine field measurements where specified. Certified NDT and laboratory testing are carried out by qualified third parties or the supplier, and we witness and review them.

Can you arrange independent testing of samples?

Yes. We can select and seal samples at the supplier, send them to an independent laboratory with a suitable accreditation scope and review the results against your specification.

Direct contact. No forms.

Discuss your inspection, audit or project requirements

Send us the purchase order scope, drawings, specifications or ITP and the supplier location. You will receive a written proposal with scope, inspector profile, schedule and reporting format.
